Battery Shipping Precautions

 Classification of Batteries: Batteries are classified as Class 9 Dangerous Goods, which means they require special care

 and protective measures when being transported. Cant transport by plane,Less shipping channel than general goods,

below some attention notes for battery shipment


Packaging Requirements: Batteries should be properly packaged to prevent short-circuiting and damage. Containers 

should be dry and clean, and ensure that the goods are evenly distributed within the box to avoid overweight leading to 

container breakage.


Declaration and Documentation: Cargo owners or their agents must provide complete documentation, including 

Dangerous Goods Declaration of Safe and Sound Carriage, CP Certificate of Container Container Packing, etc. These 

documents are an important basis for Customs and transporters to review the safety of the cargo.

(The certificates and qualifications required for battery transport mainly include CE certification, battery command、

 test, MSDS report,UN38.3 test)


Avoiding severe vibration and high temperature: In the process of transport, severe vibration and high tem-

perature environment,should be avoided to prevent the occurrence of internal short circuit or thermal runaway of the 

battery.


 Special Requirements: For the air transport of lithium batteries, the restrictions on daily-use lithium batteries and 

rechargeable treasures carried by passengers, and the prohibited transport restrictions on all defective batteries or 

damaged batteries are all clearly stipulated.


Exceptions: Exceptions are provided for the transport of lithium batteries for some Class 9 dangerous goods, with

 strict restrictions on the transport of samples.
